"I hate this!" each day followed by each month, caged here, to this building forcing him to do things he didn't want to do, maybe it wouldn't be so bad if you actually had a group of friends worth bothering about!
You've had enough, time to cut class again, so that's what you're doing and this time... you don't have any intention of going back, not to your house where your dad will yell at you again because he's a loud ass.
"Hey where do you think you're going?" says a voice from behind you, crap it's the teacher's! You leg it to the hall door, fling it open and without a second thought run out, after a few minutes of blindly turning corner's and running at full speed you hide in the little grassy area that surrounds your school, you've always  had a secret love for things like this, you look around you, no one seems to be here, good, this has always been the place you come to when you need to calm down, sitting by the big old oak tree that grows here you pull out your iPod and start to search through the games on it, feeling bored but it's so nice you soon lose interest in it and you stare light headily at a white flower growing beside you.
You were just beginning to fall asleep when you hear hesitant footsteps from somewhere beside you, you start and jump up, reading yourself for a teacher or someone who might have followed you, but instantly stop when you take in the almost cool glance of a taller student, he doesn't seem older than you but something about him intrigues you, it kind of pisses you off but you continue to say nothing.
He looks at you through two tone glasses, you frown back, and feel like laughing inwardly at the almost comical appearance it gives him but the rest of him is dressed pretty nicely in black shirt and grey jeans with silver chains, you have to admit the guys got some style, swag even.
Then something about his shirt catches your eye, it has a yellow Gemini symbol on it... 'odd' you think, as you happen to have a similar shirt, the one you're wearing right now that's in full view, but only it's a long sleeved shirt and has a cancer symbol on it, you continue to stare at each other, each taking in the appearance of the other before finally, glasses guy speaks up.
"Hey... how long are you going to stare at me? I've been looking for you vantas" okay so how did this guy know you name? His voice holds a tone of impatience and... Concerned... Almost? But why would he, a complete stranger be concerned about you?
"whatever, wait how do you know my name?" the other boy seems to be rolling his eyes behind his glasses, his arms fall into the pockets of his grey jeans and you watch them like a creeper, unable to draw your eye's away from this guy... and you're growing to hate it by the moment.
"The teacher's are looking for you" he diverts, seemingly uncomfortable to answer your first question, your ignore it.
You catch yourself just as your about to say why you ditched, but why should you, you don't know this guy and you most certainly don't know if such information could be trusted with him, so you sit back down again.
"I've never seen you round before... what's your name?" you can't hold of the question any longer, you're more interested in him right now, not that you're ready to admit that yet.
He seems slightly taken back by the sudden question but then smirks, you immediately HATE that smirk, and it doesn't stir up any funny feelings in your whatsoever!
"I'm sollux, sollux captor" he says and sits down next to you without waiting for an invitation, you let him because right now your too relaxed to care, somehow you don't feel like you need to have your guard up around this guy, uh, you mean sollux captor.
"karkat" you say, pretty sure he already knows but he doesn't correct you so you assume your last name was all he knew, suddenly that bothers you.
"Do we have classes together or something?"
"Huh?" he seems in a bit a daze when you ask him the question, blinking before answering.
"Yeah we're in the same IT class" 'that was a pretty specific answer...' for some reason that makes you feel a bit happy, you inwardly punch yourself and gather for your own sharp come-back, but before you can he's already speaking again.
"This is a really nice place... Do you come here often?"
"Just to calm down..." you're struck by your own honesty but give into it, it's nice just to let loose with someone, and you suddenly decide you don't care if he tells anyone, because after today you're going to be gone, gone where no one can find you or bother you.
"..." you sat in silence for a while.
"come with me" sollux says suddenly, you stand about to ask why but he grabs you by the arm and half drags you through the tree's back to school, directing you towards a field full of students eating their lunch.
"er... why are we here?" you ask, really not wanting to be around people right now, that calmed effect you were feeling is all but gone right now.
"I wanna introduce you to a few people" he says levelly, your sure this guy is teasing you until a few student's wave at him and he waves back, walking leisurely over with you, he releases your arm and smiles at the group of people surrounding you, twelve in total including you and sollux.
He sits down and pats the ground next to him; you sit down quickly not wanting to stand out for much longer, but keeping a slight distance from everyone else. "everyone meet karkat vantas" they all smile, different for each person as you are individually met by each one.
The first and nearest to you is the person who waved to sollux first, a girl with long black hair and brown eyes, you learn her name is aradia, but sollux call's her AA, you find out that he shortens everyone's names to two letter words, if you can even call it that but whatever, then the closest to her is tavros a shy looking boy with an impressive Mohawk which definitely doesn't work with his personality but you're not interested in the slightest, the guy sitting practically on the punk is gamzee, he has a dumb grin on his face and messy black hair a even deeper shade than aradia's, his eye's glint with a blackish-purple light which draw's you in slightly, you learn that tavros is his boyfriend which doesn't bother you as much as you'd expect it to, but then that's the modern world, gamzee smiles up at you and extends a large hand "hey bro, nice to meet you!" you give back a little forced smile, even though his guy seems a little spaced and weird he's not totally uncomfortable to be around, in fact that kind of makes you want to take care of him.
You almost jump when the girl next to him; vriska pokes you and announces her name rather arrogantly; she instantly puts you on edge, so you move along to the next person; kanaya, she greets you very formally and instantly calm's you down, she seems like the type you could trust with all your secrets, so you stick close to her.
Next up is a girl called terezi, you can tell without her even saying a word that she's blind, but she kind of interest's you, she laughs a lot and teases you but she's the most level apart from kanaya but kanaya is kind of a goth so quite dark.
The next four are all kinda weird, equius.. you don't even want to think about that right now, he was seriously weird and nepeta even more so, obviously an anime fangirl right there... eridan is a tool, the protective boyfriend of feferi who is too energetic for you personally but otherwise a very nice person.
You all sit around just chatting about things for a while, finally a place you belong, the time tick's by what seems like far too soon and you have to go, your skirmish all but forgotten, next is IT class so sollux says bye to everyone, as do you and walks with you for a while.
You still don't intend to go though, so when sollux motions to go with him you stop and shake your head backing up "tell them I skipped if you want but I'm not going" he looks kind of sad at that and grabs your arm, you instantly try to tug away but his grip tightens but not painfully, it's a careful grip, you turn back to him with a angry scowl on your face, you know it's not his fault but you're sick of this shit.
"Leave me alone! I never asked for any of this" suddenly tears pour down your eye's you wipe them away angrily this always happens when you're angry, he gives you a shocked tender look, what was up with that, was he pitying you? You pull back hard but he still won't let go, instead he pulls you forward faster than you can see and takes you in his arms.
"shh kk" you want to pull away but his warmth makes your heart melt, back peddling into yourself before you cling to him like a lifeline, what was this feeling you had inside?
His arms wrap around your waist pulling you close into him and suddenly you don't even care and let it all fall out, everything, all the emotions you spent years hiding, just like that, because you trust this guy, for some reason he's trustworthy to you, what the hell has he done to you?
